About

Our Story
Shine Again Initiative was founded in late 2023 with a mission to restore hope and create opportunities for vulnerable children and families. Our journey began by addressing the pressing challenges of school dropouts, street children, and family struggles that limit access to education and a brighter future.

In collaboration with Cricket Builds Hope, Humanity First, and the Gahanga Sector in Kicukiro District, Kigali City, we launched programs that focus on education, sports, family empowerment, and community engagement. During the 2024–2025 academic year, we successfully re-integrated 123 children from 108 families into school, restoring not only their education but also dignity and hope.

Our Core Programs

Kura Neza Child Program: “Kura” means grow, and “Neza” means well. This philosophy reflects our belief that every child deserves to grow well in a nurturing environment that supports education, health, and emotional well-being.

Aguka Parent Empowerment Program: One of our core pillars, Aguka addresses the challenges faced by underprivileged families, particularly women and single mothers struggling to provide basic needs such as food, shelter, medicine, and education. The program also supports families in resolving conflicts, improving mental health, and strengthening parental skills for the benefit of children’s growth.
